She was born on October 25, 1984 in a strict Christian family in Santa Barbara, California, USA, Katy Perry later known for her song “Ur So Gay.” Her parents are two devoted pastors who directed their daughter into singing in churches or local restaurants. She said that her mother used to ban her from listening to what they call “secular music.” Thus, young Katy was apt in gospel music until one day during a slumber party she heard the voice of Freddie Mercury.

The album contained Christian songs and was released in 2001. At 17, she met Glen Ballard who is responsible for the extreme success of Alanis Morissette in the album “Jagged Katy Perry HotLittle Pill.” Citing Morissette as one of her influences, Perry found comfort in working with Ballard who then gave her necessary mentor.

In 2004, she became the vocalist of The Matrix production team and recorded some songs with Ballard that made her dubbed “The Next Big Thing” by Blender magazine. Through her sessions with Ballard, she was heard by Capitol Music executive, Jason Flom who then agreed to sign her in spring 2007.

In November 2007, she offered free download of the song “Ur So Gay” on her MySpace account. It was an instant hit, but it was the second single “I Kissed A Girl” that propelled her to chart success. The latter song was used in a teen drama series Gossip Girl, thus prompting it to climb up the Billboard Hot 100 chart at #2.

taylor swiftA singer, songwriter, and musician, Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989. Taylor Swift spent her early years on her family’s Christmas tree farm. Her grandmother had been a professional opera singer, and soon followed in her footsteps. She became obsessed with music when she was 6 years old. By the age of 10, she realized that she didn’t have to be what her dad was. Before that, she assumed that just because her dad was a stockbroker, that’s what she would do too when she grew up. And then realized that she didn’t really know what a stockbroker was, so that was a sort of dilemmataylor swift singer. But according to her music has always been the biggest thing for her. Swift was singing at a variety of local events, including fairs and contests. She sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a Philadelphia 76ers game at the age of 11, and began writing her own songs and learning guitar at 12 years old.

Britney SpearsA singer, songwriter, actress Britney Spears was born on December 2, 1981 in Kentwood, Louisiana. For more than a decade, she has been one of the most successful and sometimes controversial solo acts in pop music. For a time, however, she was better known for her personal struggles. She launched her latest comeback in 2008, releasing a new album and setting out a world tour.

When she was 7 or 8 years old her mom would accompany her to perform for everybody in front of the television. Even when she went to school she’s a weird child. Britney rather stay outside instead of playing.

After its cancellation, Spears focused on developing her musical career. She eventually landed a contract with Jive Records. In December 1998, Spears released her first single, “Baby One More Time.” The catchy pop tune reached the top of the pop charts at the end of January 1999, propelled in part by its Britney Spear Bikinimusic video. In the video, the teenaged Spears wore a skimpier version of the traditional Catholic schoolgirl uniform, drawing sharp criticism from the parents of her young fans. The recording was an instant No. 1 hit on the album charts, selling more than 1 million copies in the first week. Her personal life was also receiving more media attention, as rumors circulated that she was dating Justin Timberlake, then part of the hit pop group ‘N Sync.

With 2001′s Britney, Spears made the first move toward shedding her virginal image, while also taking her sound in a different direction. The track, “I’m a Slave 4 U,” sounded more like Prince than her bubble-gum pop of the past. Performing “I’m a Slave 4 U” at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, Spears made heads turn by dancing with a seven-foot albino python around her neck and wearing a barely-there costume.

She married her childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas, but the union was annulled two days later. She then got involved with backup dancer Kevin Federline. At the time, Federline’s girlfriend Shar Jackson was pregnant with their second child. Spears’ relationship with Federline only intensified with the media’s scrutiny of her private life.

Her personal life, however, seemed to be flourishing. Spears and Federline married on September 18, 2004, in Studio City, California.

The new mother found herself in hot water in February 2006, after she was caught on film driving her car with her infant son in her lap. Her parenting skills became a subject of national debate, and she was even rebuked.

By month’s end, Spears returned to the hospital for another evaluation. Rumors circulated that she had bipolar disorder, but that diagnosis has not been confirmed.
